Under 14 Football
Pearses U14 Div 4 boys travelled to St. Croans for their latest match in the championship. Playing against a strong first team of St. Croans was always going to be difficult and so it proved with Pearses going down on a scoreline of 5-9 to 5-15. A strong 11 took to the field for the start of this match and early goals from Abdullah Sahid and Ryan Kelly got us off to a great start. Further points from Terry McGowan and a brace of points from Adam Hynes counteracted some of the excellent point taking displayed by St. Croans and ensured it was going to be a battle. A couple of well taken goals by Fionnan D'Arcy was added to by another by Abdullah Sahid. A point by Sean Canning left us up by 1 point at half time 5-4 to 3-9. Keeping with our promise to give as much football to all players as we can necessary changes unfortunately led to our path to goal drying up. 5 points were kicked in the second half 3 from Adam Hynes and one each from Sean Canning and Terry McGowan completed our scoring and unfortunately we were unable to stem the flow of scores at the other end where St. Croans added 2-6. Our boys worked their socks off and never gave up. Full panel: David Hoey, Cian Grenham, Colm Sheerin, Calem Lionel, Conor Hogan, Adam Hynes, Sean Canning, Abdullah Sahid, Fionnan Darcy, Luke Galvin, Terry McGowan, Ryan Kelly, Cormac Curley.
