Club Notes May 20

O’Rourke Cup
Our Paul Flynn Construction sponsored Senior Footballers had a long trip to Ballinlough on Saturday evening last to play Michael Glaveys. Short a number of players through injury as well as our county contingent it was a solid performance from the team on the night. After playing into a slight breeze we led 1-4 to 0-2 at the break, with our goal coming from Alan Duffy, adding to points from Paul Carey, Emmett Kelly and Sean Fahy. The same 3 players tacked on early second-half points before a Sean Fahy goal put the game to rest. An Aaron Feehily 45 rounded off our scoring for the evening and left the final score 2-10 to 0-7 for the visitors. Our seniors have a break this weekend before our next league outing against Clann the following weekend in Woodmount. Team & Subs Used: Paul Whelan, Shane Carty, Anthony Butler, James Kelly, Matthew Feehily, Lorcan Daly, Aaron Johnston, Aaron Feehily, Gavin Downey, Emmett Kelly, Conor Payne, Sean Fahy, Alan Duffy, Paul Carey, Niall Carty, Thomas Dolan, Daniel Farrell, Andrew Flood, Jason Murray, Ian Curley.
Our Tansey Cup fixture against Elphin was unfortunately postponed by the county board.
