Club Notes April 1

Tansey Cup Round One - A very young Rosgal sponsored Pearses Junior Football team played a strong and experienced St. Dominics Senior Team in the first round of the Tansey Cup played in Kiltoom on Saturday evening last. Despite a number of excellent saves from Paul Whelan and some good Pearses scores from Aaron Johnson, James Kelly, Andrew Flood and Padraig Downey, St. Dominics were on top. The lads worked hard throughout the field for the duration of the game and with some improvement can become competitive at this level. We play Creggs at home next Saturday evening @ 6pm in Round 2.

It was nip and tuck up to when Clann found the net when there was some hesitancy in the Pearsesgoalmouth. Half Time 1.07, 0.06. The second half started with a fantastic goal from James Mooney who bet the Clann keeper from 25 yards into the Top Corner. A point from Eoin Colleran levelled the game so was all to play for. The home team began to dominate around the middle third, and scores came easy with a goal and 3 points in a row.
