Tractor Run.
A very successful Tractor Run took place from the Pearses Complex last Sunday, The Run was in Aid of Cancer Care and Roscommon Mayo Hospice, In the Region of eighty Tractors took part, Big and small Old and New. The run encompassed all three parishes in the club area and was particularly popular with the young spectators along the route. Great praise goes to the event organisers, Thanks also to the great support from the local Farmers and Contractors for supporting this worthy event and particularly thanks to the Clubs catering staff on the day for the supply of Hot Soup, Tea and Sandwiches
Walking Track
The Padraig Pearses Community walking track official re-launch took place on Sunday last. The Tape was cut by Chairman Michael Feehily along with Councillors John Naughton , John Keogh, Roscommon County Council, and senator Maura Hopkins, The Chairman thanked , The Dept of Rural and Community Development for their grant assistance in co funding the project, Contractor Hugh Daly for project execution , Our own Development Committee and most importantly the local community and societies for their support in making this amenity possible, The facility provides a readily accessible walk/running circuit which is floodlit, and safe, An ideal location for people to meet up and have good chat/walk or run, Well done to all concerned.
