Under 14 Hurling Final:

Congratulations to the Pearses under 14 Hurlers on a great win over perennial rivals Four Roads in the Div1 final yesterday, Our thanks to the Players, Mentors and Parents for there commitment during the year and on a very successful season Well done all

U 12 Division 2, Shield County Final. Pearses 10, Elphin/Ballinameen 8.

Our division 2 Shield County final was played last Thursday under lights in Kiltoom. They drew when both teams last met in the league, so we were expecting a tough final. We settled early on and picked up a few scores however Elphin/Ballinameen kept us under pressure & played some free flowing football, there were some great battles all over the pitch & playing under the lights added to the occasion. We went in at halftime 2 points down knowing we should probably have been level. To be fair to the lads they gave it everything in the second half and we dominated play, however we just couldn't put the ball over the bar, this gave the opposition hope and they kept the pressure on, even one set of the lights going out added to the drama. Luckily our lads kept digging and at the final whistle we were up by 2 points, it was great to see the lads putting in such a great performance and the celebrations after reflected their effort. Our scores were Keelan Ryan, Jack Nevin, Mikey Cruise, Sean Hogan & Cillian Blackweir. Our team Shane Glennon, Fionn Lyons, Luke Kenny, Hugh Curley, Mikey Cruise, James Butler, Keelan Ryan, Jack Nevin, James Harrington, Charlie Mooney, Cillian Blackweir, Ben Dolan, Aaron Grenham. Subs used Jordan Downey, Sean Hogan, Eoghan Killeen, Subs Wiktor Borowski, Ronan Sheerin & Conor Kelly

U12 Girls Football:

The curtain was closed on a super season for the U12 girls in Woodmount today. After winning the Div 1 C'ship in June we set up an Interclub League with Ballinasloe, Loughrea and Garrycastle. As we have a panel of 29 girls, the agreement was we played everyone for a half in all games. After 6 round robin games, the finals today were Padraig Pearses vs. Loughrea and Ballinasloe vs. Garrycastle. Our girls were excellent in the game only for the shooting boots to be left at home. We dominated large parts but eventually lost 3-7 to 1-5. The result was irrelevant in that all girls got game time. We would like to thank all the girls and parents for their commitment during the year. With 100 kids and parents in the Club today, we would sincerely like to thank the club for putting food on for all. All the other teams were so complimentary of our facilities and hospitality. We would also like the 3 clubs, Garrycastle, Ballinasloe and Loughrea. A final thanks to Cahalans Jewellers for part sponsoring the trophy along with our Club. A great end to the season.
